Duck hunts on the Colorado River. This river system is a sleeper when it comes to
duck hunting. With low water conditions our grass is exploding. Lots of grass
equals lots of birds. This river system is very shallow and rocky. I have the
equipment and the knowledge to get you to where the birds are. Your dogs are
welcome. $200/man a day up to four people. Two person minimum. Can
accommodate larger groups with several days notice.
$40 per person
Available when the birds are available. September October and we have a short
split season towards the end of December
Bow hunts are held on several large ranches very close to Bastrop. One of the tracts fronts the Colorado River, which gives the
animals a very good water source year round. We typically hunt the tree filled ridge lines that were formed by the river millions
of years ago. All of my stands are hand fed every day 10 days prior to opening day. Both tracts have turkey and pigs on them.
All
hunters and fisherman need to have and show a current Texas hunting or fishing license. Any applicable stamps need to be
included on license such as: (archery, upland, migratory, federal duck stamp, and all hunter's born after September 1, 2024
have to have Hunter's Education Certificate on them.
